Cheshire was an important county in the story of the canal, from the days of the Bridgewater Canal. Nowadays, the ‘Cheshire Ring’ attracts many narrowboat enthusiasts.
Canal holidays are increasingly popular, and Hill House Farm is very close to the popular and pretty Shropshire Union canal. There are a couple of nearby places where you can hire narrowboats and canal boats – Beeston and Bunbury.
Chas Hardern operate from Beeston Castle Wharf, and Anglo Welsh from Bunbury Lock. Both bases are only a few miles away. You can stay at Hill House Farm at either end of your canal holiday – or why not hire a narrowboat for a day or two, just to try it out?
