We welcome dogs to Hill House Farm, we have our own Farm Walk around the edge of the horse paddocks, separately fenced pathway, down past our Outdoor Arena, then the walk takes you around the edge of our ‘Winter Fields’ then runs alongside the Brook at the bottom, before crossing a small bridge into our ‘Summer Fields’ and back up the track towards the main farmhouse and stable yard.
We also have an enclosed dog exercise field next door to The Country Lodge. This field has a mown track around the perimeter ideal for short walks to allow dogs to let off steam, to play ‘fetch’ or similar games, perhaps you would like to practice some recall or just allow your dog some free time to play!

Hacking around the fields
Hill House Farm makes a great base for all things equestrian, and it’s a great place to stay if you’re coming to Cheshire for horse riding or riding holidays.
We have excellent new stable facilities, with rubber mats in all the stables and plenty of space for guest horses. There are turnout paddocks and all-weather arena, and a set of jumps for use in the drier months of the year. The off-road car parking area is large enough for a horse box or trailer to easily manoeuvre and park. Click on Picture Gallery to see the Stable Yard.
Guests can ride in the fields depending on the time of year, and there is an excellent network of bridleways and quiet country lanes close to Hill House Farm. Little Budworth Country Park is only a couple of miles away, and has many bridleways, across heathland and light forest. Delamere Forest Park also has extensive trails for horses.
Kelsall Hill is only 5 miles away and has a super Farm Ride, all weather arenas available for hire, all weather gallops and Cross Country Training Field. They are currently building a large indoor arena so watch out for more exciting news from them!
The Delamere Loop passes the end of the lane leading to Hill House Farm, this is a 22 mile loop ride running partway along the Whitegate Way round in a circle, taking in Delamere Forest, Primrose Wood and Little Budworth Country Park. Whilst most of the route follows quiet country lanes and off-road trails it is occasionally necessary to cross busy roads. The route comprises some 12 miles of surfaced roads the rest of the route is ‘off-road’. The Delamere Loop can be joined at any point and is marked by blue and white fingerposts and waymark discs.
The Gallops Cross Country Ride at Tilstone is another local Farm Ride that is based on at a nearby farm with a selection of small optional jumps.
Broxton Gallops is a beautiful 8 Furlong all-weather gallop with a gradual incline of 140 feet which is excellent for keeping any horse fit. Training is on a super-safe surface at all times, with a 1 furlong return track which ensures your horse’s heart-rate does not drop too much, enabling fitness-training to be continued to a peak which allows the rider to achieve whatever level he or she requires.
